Why We Are Here
Beginnings, a Frank Bryson Foundation, is a 501c charity organization based at the top of Virginia. We exist to help people heal and nourish themselves and others by growing their own food.
At Beginnings, we believe that everyone who wants to grow food should have the opportunity to do so. When you enable people to grow food, you not only help them to feed themselves and their families, the overflow of abundance also reaches neighbors, food banks, church pantries and wildlife centers, it also creates community resilience.
What we do
The Problem
People are sick and suffering with preventable disease and illnesses due to poor nutrition and lack of access to fresh, affordable, organic food. Many who want to grow food, cannot due to physical, mental, financial or space constraints. Our pollinators need more gardeners too!
How we help
Through resources and education, we empower people to grow their own nutritious food. We install garden systems to suit the growing needs of individuals/families.
Our Programs
Our Neighbor's Garden
In Our Neighbor's Garden, we enable individuals to grow food by installing custom garden systems to suit their needs and environment.
Veggies for Veterans
In Veggies for Veterans, we install a specialized garden system. Honoring our Heroes for all that they have sacrificed for us.
Lily's Garden
In Lily's Garden, young gardeners learn the vital role of pollinators, with hands on projects in a fun, creative atmosphere.

Our Impact
When you enable people to grow food, it not only benefits them, it also improves pollinator populations and enhances the well-being of all.
Sadly, before she was able to completely heal, her husband of 34 years, passed away. His name was Frank, or Jr. depending on how you knew him. He was a great guy, who loved to help others, you would have liked him.
The next year she decided to start growing some of her own food. She poured her grief, tears, and money into the soil, and that's when she realized just how physically difficult, how expensive, and how therapeutic growing food is, and she knew that she wanted to help others grow food for themselves and for the environment.
Frank and Kim had often talked of starting an organization centered around feeding people, and so, Beginnings was born. Please join us on this journey and help our story continue to grow.

Events
Come play in Lily's Garden, while we learn all about pollinators!
This coming Thursday, July 11, 2024 is our first fundraiser. Please grab your friends and family, and join us at Texas Roadhouse between 5pm-9pm to help us raise funds for our upcoming event. Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of food sales and there will be a 50/50 raffle. We hope to see you there.
